Business strategy
Clarity on where the business is going and what to do first. We look at where your time and money actually go, separate the urgent from the important, and turn it into a short, ordered plan — not a binder that sits on a shelf.
Business-A-To-Z
We help you identify what you need, build a strategy around it, choose the right tools, and reach results you can measure.
Most engagements start with one problem: a process that eats hours, a tool that no longer fits, or a decision that keeps getting put off. We start there, fix what matters most, and build from it.
Clarity on where the business is going and what to do first. We look at where your time and money actually go, separate the urgent from the important, and turn it into a short, ordered plan — not a binder that sits on a shelf.
Software that fits how you actually work. We review what you use today, recommend proven off-the-shelf tools where they fit, and build custom ones where they don’t — then set them up and get your team using them.
Fewer fires and more predictable weeks. We map how work moves through the business, fix the hand-offs where things get dropped, and put simple tracking in place so jobs, follow-ups, and money don’t depend on memory.
Solid foundations for a new business: receipt and bill tracking, a contact and follow-up system, and the early decisions that are expensive to undo later. We work alongside your accountant and attorney, not in place of them.
Owner-led businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets, sticky notes, and memory, but don’t need enterprise software or a full-time IT hire.
Business-A-To-Z is not a managed IT provider or a substitute for legal, tax, or accounting advice. If that is what you need, we will say so and point you in the right direction.
Four steps, in this order, every time.
We start by understanding the business as it is today — what is working, what is not, and what is actually in the way.
A plan built around your goals and your constraints, in an order that makes sense to carry out.
The software and systems that fit the plan, chosen to suit the way you work rather than the other way around.
We agree up front what success looks like, then track against it, so progress is something you can see.
Every one of these started the same way: someone described a problem, and it got solved. Each is running today.
Operations support
Tracking jobs across multiple sites, when the current system is a spreadsheet and memory.
Built for a project manager preparing to take on a larger portfolio, who specified what he actually needed rather than accepting what off-the-shelf tools offered. Still growing as the role does.
Systems and tools
A stack of business cards from three events, and no idea who to follow up with.
Built for someone who collects cards constantly and found every existing app either locked the useful features behind a subscription or simply didn’t have them — voice notes on a contact, follow-ups with due dates, grouping by the event where you met.
Systems and tools
Knowing what is actually happening at your network perimeter, rather than assuming.
Built after a conversation with an associate working in network security, drawing on years of building monitoring and reporting at enterprise scale. Continuous perimeter monitoring, short- and long-term views, and highly configurable.
Operations support
Receipts that fade, get lost, and can never be found when you actually need one.
Photograph a receipt and it is read, filed, and searchable. Built to solve a problem in my own house, using the same document-extraction approach that works for invoices, statements, and anything else worth keeping.
Getting started
Knowing what is due, when, and what it all costs — without paying a subscription for the privilege.
Built when a tool I relied on moved behind a monthly fee. Rather than pay rent on my own data, I built a version with the filtering, calendar view, and daily due-date email I actually wanted.
I spent more than twenty-five years in IT, most recently as Executive Director of Product and Engineering Support Management at JPMorganChase — leading a sixteen-person engineering support organization across the US and India, with full budget accountability for a $40M+ product portfolio. Before that, thirty-five years of hands-on work with the technology businesses actually run on.
That background shapes how I work. Large organizations fail in predictable ways: tools bought before the problem is understood, processes that serve the software instead of the people, systems nobody can explain six months later. Small businesses fail the same ways, faster and with less margin for it.
Business-A-To-Z applies that experience at a scale where it is useful. No implementation team, no change-management program — a straight answer about what you need, a plan you can carry out, and the tools to do it.
